om | nieuwe energie is the greenest energy supplier in The Netherlands. Why? Because we’ve decided to do things a bit differently.
Together with tens of local energy cooperatives, we form a non-profit organisation with the main goal to make energy supply in The Netherlands 100% sustainable. How? By developing renewable energy resources in your own neighbourhood and lowering the costs for our customers.
You may have some questions regarding registering for energy from om | nieuwe energie, as most pages are in Dutch. This page will therefore provide you with all the information you need to make a smooth transition towards locally produced renewable energy.
New energy in a nutshell

Making your home sustainable is easy!
You can apply for 100% renewable energy from om | nieuwe energie through our online tool which firstly calculates how much energy we expect you to consume within the coming year.
Based on this information we will show you the estimated montly costs of different contracts. After choosing the contract of your liking, we will ask you to complete the form with your personal details. After signing up you will receive your contract by mail.
Every customer has the opportunity to revoke their application within 14 days. This is required by Dutch law. Because of this, the start of your energy supply will always lie at least 14 days in the future. Please contact us directly when energy supply is needed earlier.
Our online tool is currently only available in Dutch. Therefore we have created an English instruction to help you on your way.
Fixed or variable prices?
At om | nieuwe energie you have the option to choose between different contracts: 1 year fixed, and Flex.
With a fixed contract the energy price per kWh stays the same for as long as the contract is running. During this period you are unable to freely switch to another supplier, unless you pay a fine.
Flex prices are set at the first of every month and are adjusted to average energy prices of that moment. When you apply for a Flex contract, the price automatically changes every month. In contrast to a fixed contract you are not bound to a set period and you are free to change supplier or switch from Flex to a fixed price whenever you want.
Payments and meter readings
When you apply for energy we estimate what amount of energy you will use within the coming year. Each month you will pay 1/12 of the total amount of energy we expect you to use.
After twelve months of supply we will take a look at your meter readings to determine how much energy you’ve actually consumed. If you’ve used less than expexted, you will get a refund. If you’ve used more than expected, you will have to pay a little extra.
